Welcome Lucy
Hi, I’m Lucy – the new project coordinator for SE2. After joining the team just over 2 weeks ago, I’m excited about this new venture and new phase of life. Ive just come back to work after taking 9 months adoption leave, and it’s all change for me both returning to work amidst all the challenges that have come to the working world with COVID 19, but also a slight career change for me from working as chartered architect prior to my adoption leave. So it’s a fresh start, new world of work, and hopefully a fresh perspective.
As an architect, I hope to bring my experience of working in sustainable design and leading projects across a variety of sectors from concept to completion on site to my new role. I found during my work as an architect that so many clients were interested in what sustainable measures they could install on their project but unfortunately many of these measures were value-engineered out prior to construction. When sustainable measures did make it to the build stage, there were often teething difficulties to address in helping occupants understand the new technologies and the different way in which the buildings functioned. I hope through my role at SE2 I can start to address some of these issues by helping both educate stakeholders about the short and longer term benefits of “going eco” and to also review projects post occupancy to both look at addressing the performance gap, and issues with user interfaces.
My overall passion is to help create better spaces and places in which we live, work and play and which ultimately are good for the world in which we live.
