Join us at this year's SE2 Seminar
It was twenty years ago today… that Rachael Mills, Director of SE2, took her first steps in the energy efficiency industry. A lot has changed since then: condensing boilers are the norm, loft and cavity wall insulation markets have rollercoastered up and down several times, renewables have hit the mainstream and we have these things called apps to control everything with…
But there’s a lot that sadly hasn’t changed: fuel poverty remains a large-scale problem that won’t go away, hard to treat properties are still hard to treat, and we still haven’t figured out what to do about the private rented sector.
Join us on Tuesday 27th September from 6pm at The Castle, Cowcross Street, Farringdon, to reflect on Rachael’s twenty years in energy efficiency with some old friends and to look forward to the future with some new ones.
We’re delighted that our panellists will include:
- Aimee Betts-Charalambous, TechUK - Aimee helped created the Heat Trust, which provides customer protection to those on district heating networks, and worked on policy issues at the ADE. She’s now at TechUK as Programme Manager for the Internet of Things and Smarter UK so might be in charge of future-gazing for the evening!
- Neil Cutland, Cutland Consulting – Neil has the honour of having known Rachael the longest! They worked together at NES before he moved to BRE and freelance life, and Rachael moved on to EST and to start SE2! Neil is our buildings expert for the night, whether that’s policy, performance, standards or strategy.
- Paula Owen, ecoactiongames – Paula and Rachael worked together at EST, where Paula’s unofficial job title was “Queen of Data”. She’s the brains and energy behind http://ecoactiongames.org.uk - if it involves sustainability and gamification, then it’s probably got Paula’s fingerprints on it…
