Visions for 2013: the predictions
Last Wednesday we were thrilled to be joined by friends and colleagues for the second of SE2’s New Year Seminars. The theme for the evening was ‘Visions for 2013’, and our enthusiastic attendees did us proud with a sparkling debate over what the year ahead may hold.
Our three fantastic speakers- Syed Ahmed, Energy for London; David Adams, Wilmott Dixon and Penney Poyzer, Nottingham Ecohome- got us off to a flying start with their reviews of 2012, and their predictions for the coming months. Despite being faced with big challenges (predictions of fuel poverty, food scarcity and water management issues, and fears about fracking), and a lack of enthusiasm for the Green Deal, there were positive feelings too- mainly about the potential for decentralised energy and more energy-related community groups to gain a foothold in the coming year.
Animated discussions and some wonderful company meant the night was a resounding success- and we can’t wait for next year! If you couldn’t make it, please do take time to have a look at our newsletter and the photos (and make sure you join us next time!)
Below is a selection of some of the key predictions made on the night. What are your visions for 2013?
