Take a stand against fuel poverty
Friday 15 February is National Fuel Poverty Awareness Day.
NEA has produced some great resources to help raise awareness of the reality of living in fuel poverty and some of the steps that we can all take to help people who are struggling to keep warm and well at home. Below you'll find links to a series of videos - please do share them as widely as you can.
o How do I know if I’m in fuel poverty
o Paying for energy
o Maximising income
o How to make my home warmer
o How to switch supplier
o How to stay safe at home
Their Warm and Safe Homes Action Guide brings together a range of useful information into practical and accessible guidance for anyone working with households at risk of fuel poverty.
This Fuel Poverty Awareness Day, Liz will be speaking at a Climate Emergency and Fuel Poverty Action Day in her home town of Frome, Somerset. She's also helped set up a series of advice surgeries at the local medical practice and trained GPs and others in how to identify fuel poverty, its impacts and how to help people tackle it.
Keep an eye on social media for #FuelPovertyAwarenessDay and #WarmSafeHomes; spread the message and keep public attention on this very real issue as winter energy bills arrive and the price cap moves upwards.
