New HECA Reporting Service - Available from SE2
This year marks the beginning of a new approach to local government reporting on the Warm Homes and Energy Conservation Act, known as HECA reporting.
Local authorities will have to submit a report to Government by the end of March 2013, covering:
- Their local energy efficiency ambitions and priorities
- What they are planning to do to take advantage of initiatives and incentives such as Green Deal, ECO, Feed-in Tariffs and RHI in their local housing stock
- What they are planning to do to improve energy efficiency using area-based or community-driven approaches
- A timetable for delivery and details of partnership working
This is a time of change for many local authorities. To help with the transition to a new reporting structure and to provide additional resource to authorities that are struggling for time, SE2 has developed a new service to support and enhance HECA reporting. We offer three levels of service:
Compliance: fulfilling the basic requirements of HECA and providing the authority with the tools and templates to produce update reports every two years
Compliance and readiness: producing the required reports, supporting delivery of plans through inter-departmental workshops and delivering a strategic assessment of the authority's readiness to implement and deliver its plans
Compliance, readiness and engagement: as above, with additional support to develop a prospectus for investment in local energy conservation to attract businesses and funding, and activities to engage local supply chain businesses with the Council's plans
