Double celebrations for SE2
What a week!
Firstly, we celebrated Rachael's well-deserved OBE for services to energy efficiency and diversity in the energy sector. With characteristic modesty, Rachael will always downplay her efforts and promote the contributions of others, but this is a week for recognising the contributions that she herself has made. From steering stakeholder engagement on some of the most effective energy efficiency policies of all time, to giving a voice to the social housing sector in the decarbonisation of heat; from shaping local strategies on decarbonisation to inspiring the District Heating Divas: Rachael's impact on our sector has been incredible! She's also achieved these things with grace, kindness and way more patience than her business partner ;-)
Secondly, a joint celebration as SE2 marked our 20th birthday on Friday 26th April. From that first bottle of champagne (Tattinger, thanks!) at a pub in Deptford back in 2004, we couldn't have dreamed of this. We have been fortunate to work with some incredibly smart, passionate people in pursing our goals of tackling climate change and addressing fuel poverty. It hasn't always been easy and progress hasn't been linear, but we like to feel that we have made a difference and that we have helped others to make a difference too.
Thank you to everyone who has played a part in our journey, especially that amazing people that have been part of our team, as employees, associate and partners. You have helped our little company to have a big footprint and we can't thank you enough.
