Cutting carbon in schools: new toolkit available for testing
I spoke at the Building Future Education conference in London yesterday to a great audience of people who believe that sustainability has a key part to play in the schools system. Here I am mid-presentation!
I was at BFE to present the latest progress on our work to develop an EU wide carbon footprinting tool specifically designed for schools (find out more here); we're at prototype stage with what we believe is the first tool to help schools map their emissions from energy, travel and procurement whilst reflecting the differences between European states. We currently have prototype toolkits available for the UK, the Netherlands, Poland and Italy, and we're keen to hear from schools who would like to test it. You'll need to be able to commit some time during the Summer Term to gathering data, completing the toolkit and providing feedback; your experiences will help shape the development of the toolkit in the next six months as we prepare to launch it online later in the year (we hope!).
You can read more about the project at the ATLAS Schools website. If you're interested in participating as a test school during the Summer Term, please contact Liz Warren (liz.warren@se-2.co.uk); note that places are limited!
