Free fuel poverty training for small housing associations
Free training on fuel poverty is currently available to housing association staff in London and the South of England, thanks to EDF Energy’s Warm Homes Discount funding. One-day courses are being offered to help small housing associations understand, identify and tackle fuel poverty amongst residents.
Delegates will learn about the causes and consequences of fuel poverty and how to cut fuel poverty amongst their tenants. The day will include sessions on the new ‘Energy Company Obligation’ scheme (ECO) and how housing associations can access funding from this scheme for energy efficiency measures. It will also include information on the new Green Deal programme and the opportunity this presents for housing associations. Participants will also take part in a workshop session designed to help them take the first steps towards developing an action plan for their organisation.
The training is being delivered by Emma Jones of Impetus Consulting Ltd and Julie Robinson from the Core. Emma and Julie are both experts in the field with many years experience of working with housing providers and their partners on programmes to cut fuel poverty.
